Terms for using Telefoneer

Telefoneer helps visitors look up phone numbers and share experiences with phone calls. These terms apply to using the website and submitting ratings, experiences and comments.

Before you share an experience

Share only your own experience, be considerate and do not publish private information. Your contribution is public and may be found by search engines.

1. What Telefoneer can and cannot tell you

Telefoneer displays information about phone numbers and contributions from visitors. A number listing, area code or number range does not establish who is calling, where they are located or who currently owns the number. The displayed caller number may also have been spoofed.

Visitor experiences are personal reports. Telefoneer does not verify every reported call. A rating, category or large number of views is not proof that a person or organisation is unsafe or trustworthy. A lack of experiences does not mean that a number is safe either.

2. Share a real and relevant experience

Only submit information about a call or contact you personally experienced. Describe what happened as specifically as possible and distinguish between what you observed, what the caller claimed and your own opinion.

Choose a rating and category that match your experience. Do not present suspicions as established facts. Naming an organisation the caller claimed to represent does not confirm that identity.

  • Do not submit fabricated experiences, copied reviews or comments on behalf of someone else.
  • Do not use multiple accounts, repeated submissions or other methods to manipulate ratings.
  • Disclose any business or personal interest relevant to your contribution. Do not pretend to be an independent visitor if you are not.

3. Respect other people and their privacy

Critical or negative experiences are welcome when they are relevant and carefully described. Keep your contribution focused on the call and the information needed to understand your experience.

  • Do not post threats, discrimination, hate speech, harassment or calls to target someone.
  • Do not share private addresses, private email addresses, bank details, identity documents, medical details or other sensitive information about yourself or others.
  • Do not identify private individuals unnecessarily. Do not use an address field to publish a private home address.
  • Do not post advertising, spam, harmful links, illegal content or material you have no right to publish.

4. Your contribution becomes public

The text, rating and other information you add to the public experience may appear on the number page and in overviews. Your visible account name may be shown alongside a contribution. Only include information you intend to make public.

Public contributions may also be available through text versions and the public data representation of Telefoneer. Search engines and other services may index or retain copies. After an edit or removal, these services may take time to update their results.

An email address entered in the separate email field is not displayed as part of your experience. Do not include it in the public text. Accepting these terms does not authorise you to publish someone else’s private information.

5. Rights to your contribution

You retain the rights to your own text. By submitting it, you give Telefoneer non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store and publicly display your contribution for the operation of the website, including number pages, overviews and text versions.

This permission includes technical formatting needed to make your contribution readable on different devices and in different representations. It does not transfer ownership of your text to Telefoneer. Only submit material you have the necessary rights to publish.

6. Editing or removing your experience

You can edit or remove your own experience using the available controls next to your contribution. For a contribution submitted through an account, you must be signed in to that account.

For a contribution without an account, Telefoneer stores a management code in your browser. Use the same browser to manage it. If you clear browser data or use another device, the management controls may no longer be available.

When preparing an experience through MCP, you review and confirm the exact text and rating on a private page. Drafts expire after one hour. After publication, you can remove the contribution through that private link for 180 days; keep it and do not share it publicly. To change an experience, remove the old contribution and confirm a new draft.

After removal, your contribution is no longer offered as a public experience on Telefoneer. Temporary caches and copies held by search engines or other services may take longer to update.

7. Contributions that break the rules

Telefoneer may remove contributions that break the law or these rules, including threats, privacy violations, spam, fabricated experiences or manipulation. Duplicate or clearly irrelevant contributions may also be removed.

A negative rating alone is not grounds for removal. Decisions take into account the content, its context, the freedom to share an experience and the rights of those involved.

8. Use the information carefully

Treat Telefoneer as a source of reports and experiences, not a definitive determination of anyone’s identity or reliability. Check important information independently before acting and do not share passwords, verification codes or payment details with unknown callers.

Do not misuse the website. Do not access other people’s accounts or management codes, bypass security or disrupt the service. These terms do not limit any rights you have under mandatory law.

9. Version and acceptance

When you submit an experience, we ask you to actively accept these terms. The checkbox is initially unticked for a new submission. You can open the terms before submitting and save a text copy.

When these terms change, a new date will appear at the top. A change does not mean that an earlier tick automatically constitutes acceptance of new obligations.
